Funk, Inc. "SuperFunk" P10071 VG+/VG+ 1973 Original

Funk, Inc. "SuperFunk" P10071 VG+/VG+ 1973 Original

A few light, stray marks and initials written in marker on labels (both sides) prevent an NM grade, but this is about as nice as VG+ gets for a disc. Jacket is also upper VG+ with only faint signs of wear and initials written in marker on upper right front corner and upper left rear corner of gatefold. P10071, 1973 Original.

Funk Inc’s "SuperFunk", released in 1973, is a powerful showcase of deep funk grooves, soulful jazz, and blues influences, driven by rhythm-heavy instrumentation that epitomizes the raw energy of 1970s funk. Led by saxophonist Eugene Barr and organist Bobby Watley, the album is packed with infectious riffs, punchy horn lines, and the unmistakable Hammond organ sound that gives it a gritty, danceable edge. Tracks like “Message from the Meters” and “Give Me Your Love” blend tight, syncopated rhythms with improvisational flair, creating an upbeat, crowd-pleasing sound. "SuperFunk" remains a favorite among funk enthusiasts for its authentic groove, capturing the essence of street funk while delivering a powerful, timeless energy.
